New road and bus stops near Yekaterinburg complex see no buses
In the Uktus district, new bus stops have been idle for over a year. This concerns a section of Vodoemnaya Street that was developed in 2024–2025. Buses have never been seen there. Not a single route goes to this part of the metropolis, where the large residential complex «Prostory» was built.
The Yekaterinburg city hall assures that the transport issue will be resolved soon. So far, everything rests on the technical part: the problem is that buses need space to turn around. This task will be addressed in the summer of this year.
The route that will be the first to go to the «Prostory» residential complex is also known. The city hall document that approves the planning of regular transportation in Yekaterinburg states that from September 1, 2026, bus No. 40 is planned to be launched on Vodoemnaya. Currently, it follows Luganskaya Street and turns into Bazovy Lane, to the «Leman Pro» shopping center.
After the changes, the route of bus No. 40 will be as follows:
in the forward direction: Vodoemnaya Street — Koltovsky Tract — Luganskaya Street — Bypass Road — Belinskogo Street — Dekabristov Street — Vostochnaya Street — Lenin Avenue — Mira Street;
in the reverse direction: Mira Street — Lenin Avenue — Vostochnaya Street — Dekabristov Street — Chapaeva Street — Frunze Street — Belinskogo Street — Savvy Belykh Street — Luganskaya Street — Koltovsky Tract — Prostornaya Street — Vodoemnaya Street.
Recall that there have previously been proposals to extend route No. 40 to Vodoemnaya. City residents themselves asked officials about this.
