Yekaterinburg«s city administration promises to solve the transportation problem in the near future. According to officials, the main obstacle is the lack of a suitable area for buses to turn around. This deficiency is planned to be addressed during the summer months.
The first public transport to start operating to the «Prostory» residential complex will be bus №40. According to the approved regular transport plan, its extension to Vodoemnaya Street is scheduled for September 1, 2026. Currently, this route runs along Luganskaya Street and enters Bazovy Lane to the «Leman Pro» shopping center.

After changes, the route of bus №40 will be as follows:

  • In the forward direction: Vodoemnaya Street — Koltovsky Trakt — Luganskaya Street — Ob«yezdnaya Road — Belinsky Street — Dekabristov Street — Vostochnaya Street — Lenin Avenue — Mira Street.
  • In the reverse direction: Mira Street — Lenin Avenue — Vostochnaya Street — Dekabristov Street — Chapaev Street — Frunze Street — Belinsky Street — Savva Belykh Street — Luganskaya Street — Koltovsky Trakt — Prostormaya Street — Vodoemnaya Street.
The idea to extend route №40 to Vodoemnaya was previously suggested by residents themselves. Separately, it is noted that from February 2026, trolleybus service will be launched for the first time in the ZhBI district.
