Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin has revealed the design for the Dostoevskaya station on the Circle Line of the metro. Its construction is 41 percent complete. According to the approved architectural concept, Dostoevskaya will be executed in the Art Deco style. The station will be finished with natural stone and artistic metal. Some granites from Russian deposits will be used in the metro for the first time. The lighting fixtures for Dostoevskaya will be made from artistic glass based on custom sketches.

«The station»s appearance will combine the monumentality of the first lines of the Moscow Metro with the name of Fyodor Dostoevsky. The interiors will be light and solemn: with expressive supports, a relief ceiling, and patterned stone flooring,« the mayor said.

Panels with panoramas of cities associated with Fyodor Dostoevsky«s life—Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tver, and Staraya Russa—will appear on the walls. They will be created by honored masters of monumental art from the Russian Academy of Arts.

Recall that the construction of the Dostoevskaya station became known in 2022. This is the first new station on the Circle Line built in over 70 years. Earlier, it was included in urban development plans back in the 1950s, but the site for its construction was only freed up in the 1990s.

Dostoevskaya is expected to have two vestibules. One of them, towards the Olimpiysky complex, will be accessible via a pedestrian crossing equipped with moving walkways and escalators.
