Krasnodar replaces water pipes from Belka-Strelka era
In Krasnodar, from February 4, traffic will be restricted on a section of Komsomolskaya Street. The city«s Department of Transport and Road Economy reported this on February 3.
The restrictions are introduced due to reconstruction of water supply networks. Work is planned to be completed by March 6.
According to the department, specialists of «Rosvodokanal Krasnodar» will replace a pipeline built back in 1960.
By the way, on August 19, 1960, the USSR successfully launched the Sputnik-5 spacecraft with cosmonaut dogs Belka and Strelka on board. They became the first living beings to complete an orbital flight and safely return to Earth.
In connection with this, traffic will be restricted to one of two lanes on the section of Komsomolskaya Street from Rashpilevskaya to Krasnoarmeyskaya. Additionally, traffic organization will be changed at the intersection of Krasnaya and Komsomolskaya streets.
