Krasnodar has entered the top 10 cities with the best transport infrastructure. The rating was compiled by Ilya Zotov, the deputy chairman of the Public Council under the Russian Ministry of Transport. The regional capital took fifth place in the list. The top three were Perm, Chelyabinsk, and Nizhny Novgorod.

Earlier, Zotov told in an interview with a local TV channel that the rating was based on a survey of residents of the regions. The checklist included questions about the cleanliness of the interior, information on screens, the presence of air conditioners and heaters, and other parameters. The public figure also noted that in Krasnodar there is a large «disparity in the condition of public transport.» For example, tram rolling stock can be clean, while trolleybuses are untidy.

Earlier, the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) accused Krasnodar carriers of overstating fares. The antimonopoly authority found that three major carriers — MUP «KTTU», LLC «Kuban», and LLC «Tekhotrans-Yug» — raised the cost of public transport fares. They were issued a mandatory order and will also be fined in accordance with the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation.
