In Kazan, teenagers have once again been spotted clinging to trams for a ride. MUP «Metroelectrotrans» has reminded what penalties such a «ride» entails and urged passengers not to remain silent about such situations.

There have been regular sightings of train surfers on the tram lines in Kazan.

«If you witness minors attempting to hook onto a carriage, climb onto the roof of a moving tram, or open doors, please immediately inform the driver. Your vigilance could save someone»s life,« the enterprise noted.

Parents were strongly urged to better supervise their children, as violating the rules could lead not only to administrative but also criminal liability. For dangerous games on the rails, fines can range from 4,000 to 300,000 rubles (approximately $40 to $3,000 at current rates). In some cases, imprisonment for up to two years is also provided.

«Metroelectrotrans» emphasized: train surfers not only endanger themselves but also pose a threat to passengers.

As previously reported by our colleagues from Moscow, according to Moscow Railway data, over 9 months, 48 teenagers have become victims of train surfing. Almost half of the cases were fatal. In October 2025, in the Moscow region, there was a report of a missing schoolboy who was into train surfing. He was searched for five days and eventually removed from an electric train.
