Ice Pedestrian Crossing Over Oka River Opens in Shilovsky District

In Shilovsky District, an ice crossing for pedestrians over the Oka River on the Shilovo-Yushta-Sanskoye road has been opened, according to the regional EMERCOM (Ministry of Emergency Situations) department.
The department reminded that strict adherence to all ice safety rules is the key to preserving health and saving lives.
Earlier, the Ryazan EMERCOM department reported on raids among winter fishing enthusiasts. During preventive talks with fishermen, inspectors explain safe behavior rules on ice:
Safe ice thickness for one person is at least 7-10 cm (2.8-3.9 inches);
Do not go onto the ice during warming, snowfall, or strong wind;
Always inform family or friends where exactly you are going and when you plan to return;
Avoid places with large crowds on a limited area of ice;
Under no circumstances go fishing while intoxicated.
