Amid abnormal cold snaps and freezing temperatures, popular gas station chains are stoking residents« anger with subtle gasoline price hikes. As silent fury provides more warmth than radiators, we examine where and by how much prices have increased, lamenting, »How much more?« and »Until when?«

On the frosty morning of January 27, prices increased at Lukoil stations, where just yesterday citizens encountered announcements about off-season diesel fuel instead of winter diesel. All grades added several dozen kopeks to the price.

As of the morning of December 27, at Lukoil gas stations, a liter of A-92 costs 63.37 rubles (approximately $1 at current rates), adding 25 kopeks to the cost. A-95 rose to 70.5 rubles (approx. $1), although on December 31 the same volume cost 70.25 rubles. A-100 jumped in price to 92.94 rubles (approx. $1), adding 40 kopeks. At the same time, diesel fuel remained unchanged, with motorists having to prepare 75.73 rubles (approx. $1) to pay for a liter of heavy fuel.

Among all popular fueling stations, prices remained unchanged at Rosneft. Since January 2, a liter of A-92 costs 62.7 rubles (approx. $1). High-octane A-95 and A-95 «Pulsar» maintain prices of 68.55 rubles (approx. $1) and 71.1 rubles (approx. $1) respectively. Winter diesel fuel will cost the driver 74.3 rubles (approx. $1).

The day before, on January 26, at another network of Gazprom stations, gasoline prices changed more substantially. How much the fuel cost was jacked up was covered in this material. Earlier, economics professor Igor Belskikh already explained what the «invisible» additions to the cost are related to, as well as predicted changes for the current year.
