Free Ice Rink with Volga View Opens in Samara Region

Local residents express excitement for the upcoming ice rink at the Volzhskaya Zhemchuzhina station.
For winter sports enthusiasts, an ice rink with a picturesque view of the Volga River and surrounding mountains will open on the Samara–Tolyatti tourist route. It will be built at the Volzhskaya Zhemchuzhina station.
«Everything has been created for recreation here: bright art objects and a volleyball court have been installed, an eco-trail has been laid. It leads to a new viewing platform up the slope, offering stunning views of the Zhiguli Mountains and the Volga. Soon, an ice rink will be built there,» reported the Kuibyshev Railway.
According to the company«s estimates, the stop has already been visited by 25,000 people. It is possible that the influx will increase — in the region, a circular route that will connect three major cities — Samara, Tolyatti, and Syzran — will be developed.
«The project is currently in the final stage of approval. We plan to launch the route for the summer period and study the demand and passenger flow during this time,» said Vyacheslav Dmitriev, head of the Kuibyshev Railway.
In March, they plan to resume traffic on the Tolyatti–Syzran route.
