In Nizhny Novgorod, plans are underway to create the first dedicated lane for public transport on Belinsky Street, which will be used by buses and trams.
The lane will stretch from Lyadov Square to Maxim Gorky Street, with its installation scheduled as part of a major repair project for this section.
«The pre-project documentation includes a combined dedicated lane for bus and tram traffic, transition-speed lanes for left turns, and boarding platforms in the middle of the roadway,» clarified the GUMMiD.
Separately, a pedestrian zone will be introduced on Malaya Pokrovskaya Street starting January 28. The section from Bolshaya Pokrovskaya Street to Architect Kharitonov Street will be closed to vehicles with «No Entry» signs, a decision made after research by the Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University.
