Even Lada Nivas Stuck in Volgograd's Icy Road Ditch
In Volgograd, on Khanpashi Nuradilov Street near house No. 7, a deep ditch has formed due to a burst sewage manhole.
Warm sewage melted the ice on the dirt road, creating an insurmountable obstacle even for off-road vehicles. Local residents report that over the past day, about ten cars have been caught in the icy trap.
‘Some are lucky to quickly get help and be pulled out within an hour, while others lose several hours trying to manage on their own,’ noted Volgograd residents.
In photos obtained from readers, it is seen that a powerful pickup truck was required to evacuate a stuck Chevrolet Niva, although the exact time of the operation is not specified.
The management company «Sigma Yug», which services the house, explained the situation: ‘The sewage is leaking there, due to severe frosts the vacuum truck couldn«t pump out the water. All work will be completed today.’
It is expected that the ditch will disappear on its own with the arrival of warm weather.
