An approaching snowstorm in Sverdlovsk Oblast will worsen road conditions. Meteorologists had already warned about the bad weather, and now the State Traffic Inspectorate (GIBDD) has issued an appeal to drivers.

«In the next 24 hours, a deterioration of weather conditions is expected in Sverdlovsk Oblast: heavy snowfall, in some places a blizzard, icy conditions, and reduced visibility on the roads. In connection with this, the State Traffic Inspectorate is putting patrol crews on enhanced duty and draws the attention of all road users to the need for strict observance of traffic rules,» the GIBDD said.

They reminded drivers that during snowfall the risk of accidents increases, as visibility worsens and the braking distance on snowy and icy roads increases several times. Therefore, it is important to increase the distance to other vehicles, choose an appropriate speed, and avoid sharp maneuvers, overtaking, and passing.

In case of an emergency on the road or if you need help, call 112 or the police duty station at 102.
