Closed Turn to Village Disrupts Deliveries for Tyumen Residents

There is no money for a road that would shorten the route from Tyumen to Uspenka.
Due to the closed turn-off to Uspenka village in the Tyumen district, drivers are forced to drive an extra ten kilometers. This became known after a Tyumen resident appealed online. Authorities responded that the turn was closed during the reconstruction of the highway to Yekaterinburg, and there is no money for building a road that would shorten the route to the village from Tyumen.
«We request assistance regarding the turn-off to Uspenka village. They closed a good turn-off, and to get to the village, it is necessary to take a 10-km detour. Taxis have become more expensive, many deliveries from shops have stopped working, and I believe this has affected public transport fares. It is necessary to review the route to the village,» wrote the Tyumen resident.
As explained by the administration of the Tyumen district, the left turn to Uspenka was closed during the reconstruction of the Tyumen–Yekaterinburg highway for safety reasons in accordance with the requirements for federal highways.
«When developing the project, the terrain features were taken into account, which did not allow for a turnaround loop to Uspenka closer than the current one. Changes in traffic movement are not planned by Uralupravtodor,» they explained.
The administration noted that they have developed project documentation for the construction of a local road and connection to the federal highway via Khvoynaya Street. According to them, this will shorten the route to the village from the city. Authorities explained that the construction issue will be considered when funding is available. Money for construction in 2026 is not provided for in the budget.
Large-scale road construction and expansion are underway in the Tyumen region. Recently, we spoke with specialists from Uralupravtodor. They talked about plans for the coming years. Read in the article when the highways to Yekaterinburg and Tobolsk will become four-lane.
