Chita minibus route 51 vanishes after comeback

Minibus route 51, running from the «Geologists» Base« stop to Soviet Street, returned on January 12 after a two-year hiatus. However, it quickly disappeared because the carrier lost drivers, Chita.Ru reported on January 22 from the city administration.

«They said route 51 would run as scheduled from January 12. There was an announcement on the wall of the Transbaikal Mining College. But they are not running, although in the first week they ran as scheduled,» a Chita resident said.

City hall explained that the «disappearance» of the route is temporary: «The route started running after a two-year break. Because during this time people apparently got unused to it, passenger flow was very low. Now drivers have left for other routes. But the carrier is looking for new drivers, the route is not closed. It is taking measures to continue serving people.»
