The State Traffic Inspectorate of Chelyabinsk has warned of fines for drivers who use yards to bypass a closed section on Kaslinskaya Street due to the construction of a metro tram.

«For through traffic in a residential area, administrative liability is provided under Article 12.28 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, which entails an administrative fine of 1,500 rubles (about $20 at current rates),» clarified the GAI. «While on duty in the district, traffic police inspectors will monitor drivers» compliance with traffic rules. Violators will be held accountable under the law.«
Residents of the block near Kaslinskaya, Ostrovsky, Sverdlovsky, and Komsomolsky Prospekt streets, frustrated by constant traffic jams, have blocked the passage with hemispheres.
The passage along Kaslinskaya from Komsomolsky Prospekt to Ostrovsky has been closed from the end of December 2025 to June 2027 for the construction of the starter pit for the «North-South» metro tram line.
It was previously reported that a temporary tram line on Pobedy Prospekt will run directly past the windows of residential buildings.
