Car collides with tram in Volgograd

Due to an accident on Golubinskaya Street, the routes of four tram lines have been changed, and traffic police inspectors are expected to arrive.

On January 22, in the center of Volgograd, a Ford Focus car collided with a «Lvyonok» tram on Golubinskaya Street, which led to the stoppage of the high-speed tram.

The enterprise «Metroelectrotrans» has temporarily changed the traffic schemes for routes No. 2, No. 5, No. 7, and No. 10:

Tram No. 2 runs between the stops «Khorosheva Street» and «School No. 36»;
Routes No. 5, No. 7, and No. 10 operate on the sections «Zhilgorodok» — «School No. 36», «Radomskaya Street» — «Children»s Center«, »KIM Street« — »Children«s Center».

In the public group «Volgograd Tram,» it was reported that dispatchers called traffic police officers and are awaiting their arrival. «An accident occurred. We called the traffic police, we»re waiting. They haven«t arrived yet. When traffic will resume — we cannot say,» stated the dispatcher«s office.

Eyewitnesses shared photos from the scene. One of them noted: «On Rokossovsky, there»s an accident, trams aren«t running. Had to leave by taxi. Didn»t see any casualties.«

In the photos, it is visible that the Ford Focus tried to cross the tram tracks but did not yield to the tram car. Details of the incident and information about possible casualties are being clarified by the police.

Earlier, on January 11, the high-speed tram movement was also disrupted due to an accident — then, near the «Volgograd-Arena» stadium, two cars collided.
