A dedicated bus and tram lane is coming to central Nizhny Novgorod
A new dedicated traffic lane is planned for public transport in the city center.
A new dedicated lane for public transport will appear in Nizhny Novgorod. It will be installed on Belinsky Street for trams and buses, NN.RU was informed by the city«s Department of Municipal Management and Development (GUMMiD).
The dedicated lane will stretch from Lyadov Square to Maxim Gorky Street. The combined high-speed lane will be installed as part of a major overhaul of this section of Belinsky Street.
«The pre-project documentation includes the installation of a combined dedicated lane for bus and tram traffic, transition-speed lanes for left turns, and the placement of boarding platforms in the middle of the roadway,» GUMMiD specified.
Last week, we reported that «No Entry» signs will be installed on Malaya Pokrovskaya Street in Nizhny Novgorod starting January 28. This is related to the decision to pedestrianize the section from Bolshaya Pokrovskaya Street to Architect Kharitonov Street. According to the city administration, the Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University conducted relevant studies before the decision was made.
