Youth Dies in City Mall Security Clash

In St. Petersburg, a young man died after sustaining injuries during a conflict with security at the City Mall trade and entertainment complex. The incident occurred in the city«s Primorsky District.

The clash between a group of young people and security personnel occurred on January 21 around 19:30 at the exit of a supermarket located in the trade and entertainment complex at 17/2 Kolomyazhsky Prospekt. According to preliminary data, the group tried to bypass the checkout area with products. The security guards did not let them through, after which a fight broke out. One of the youths, according to source information, used an aerosol spray device. In response, one of the security guards used physical force, causing the young man to fall and lose consciousness.

A rapid response team from the private security agency AN-Security arrived at the scene. Its employees tried to revive the victim using ammonia. An ambulance and police also arrived at the shopping complex. The young man was hospitalized, but they were unable to save him. He died in the hospital.
