Yekaterinburg Tourists Return from Egypt After Delay

Nikita Talanov and Vladislav Revenko, the tourists from Yekaterinburg who went missing in Egypt, have arrived in Russia. They are currently in Moscow, as reported to the publication E1.RU by Tatyana, the mother of one of the young men.
“They are now in Moscow. The guys have a flight to Yekaterinburg tonight. Well, that means they will be home by February 1,” Tatyana explained.
Recall that the young men were supposed to fly home on January 26, but did not appear at the airport. The reason was their detention after a conflict with local residents in Cairo.
Nikita«s mother briefly described the events: “As Nikita briefly wrote to me, he and his friend went for a walk in Cairo in the evening. There, locals attacked them. They beat them up a bit and took their money. Then, apparently, the police intervened, and in the end they were detained. That»s all.”
Vladislav«s father Pavel said that after being released from police custody, the young men were taken directly to the airport. There, they independently purchased tickets for their return.
“They were supposed to be taken to the consulate or embassy, but they were brought directly to the airport. They bought tickets with their own money and flew to Istanbul (from there, the nearest flight can quickly take them to Russia). From there, they already flew to Russia. Vlad says he doesn«t understand why they were detained, and no charges were brought,” Pavel reported.
Earlier, a separate incident occurred: an Azur Air airline plane issued a distress signal in the sky over Vietnam, but safely made an unplanned landing.
