Yekaterinburg man found dead in Georgia

In Tbilisi, the body of 40-year-old Alexander Korovnikov was found. He had emigrated from Yekaterinburg to Georgia in 2022. Alexander stopped communicating on 1 January 2026. Friends tried to find him, posting missing person alerts on social media and news sites.

«The man is missing everywhere, not answering calls, last active on Telegram on 1 January. He suffers from epilepsy. He has no relatives in Georgia. He was last seen on Aghmashenebeli Avenue on 30 December. He is believed to have been staying in a hostel until 31 December,» the friends noted in search posts.
However, a month later, Alexander was found dead.
«We spoke with Sasha»s father. Sasha was found murdered. The Russian embassy in Georgia is now handling the transport of the body to Russia. Information from Sasha«s father,» explained the deceased«s friend Oleg Ivanov on social media.
Kommersant, citing the press center of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs, reports that a criminal case has been opened under Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Georgia («Incitement to Suicide»).
Alexander Korovnikov was born and raised in Yekaterinburg. He studied at the Diaghilev Lyceum and later graduated from UrFU (Ural Federal University). He worked as an engineer and also tutored. At the end of 2022, he left Russia and lived in Tbilisi for more than three years, where he worked at the Iraida Kvizhinadze Theatre, handling lights and stage. In his free time, he wrote books and played music. He was divorced.
