Yekaterinburg College Dormitory Flooded, Students Displaced
A dormitory at 38 Zavodskaya Street in Yekaterinburg has been flooded. Rooms from the fifth to the first floor ended up underwater.
«The radiators burst and were immediately turned off. Now it’s unclear where the students who are in the dormitory will live, they’re not telling us anything. For now, we’re waiting it out in dry rooms. We took the equipment out right away,» an eyewitness told E1.RU.
According to the students, this is not the first flood they have faced. However, before, it happened in the college itself. Pipes burst there on January 21, 24, and 30.
E1.RU attempted to contact the dormitory manager. However, they refused to speak with the correspondent.
Recently, we reported on a flood in a high-rise building in Yekaterinburg. The basement was flooded with hot water back on January 12. The wiring in the building«s electrical panel burned out. On January 20, utility workers pumped the water out of the basement, but for some reason it continued to flood the premises.
Utility accidents also occur periodically in brand new buildings. For example, we reported on the situation at the Twins residential complex in Uralmash. Around New Year«s, a massive sewage flood occurred there.
