Yaroslavl Court to Hear Case on Fatal Intersection Crash
In Yaroslavl, a 25-year-old city resident will be tried for his involvement in an accident at the intersection of Oktyabrya Avenue and Respublikanskaya Street. As reported by the prosecutor«s office, the case materials have been sent to court.
This refers to the accident that occurred on the night of December 13, 2025. The moment of the collision was captured on city cameras. The footage shows a Lada Priora crashing into a Lada Granta at speed. The impact spins the Granta around on the road.
«According to the prosecution, the man, driving a Lada Priora, was traveling along Oktyabrya Avenue and at the intersection with Respublikanskaya Street collided with a Lada Granta. As a result of the accident, a 21-year-old passenger in the Lada Granta died at the scene from her injuries,» commented the prosecutor«s office.
The driver of the Priora is charged under Part 3 of Article 264 of the Russian Criminal Code (violation of traffic rules resulting in the negligent death of a person). He could face up to five years in prison.
It is worth noting that accidents often occur at this section. For example, another serious accident at the intersection happened in October 2024. Then, in a collision between a Lada and an Opel, a young driver was injured.
