Worker splashed with battery acid at Tyumen transport depot

Around 7 a.m. on the grounds of the Passenger Motor Transport Enterprise No. 1 (PATP No. 1) depot on Respubliki Street in Tyumen, witnesses noticed a gathering of emergency service vehicles. Photographs from the scene show two fire engines and an ambulance.

Witnesses reported: «Two fire trucks and an ambulance came to the PATP. They put it out quickly, the fire trucks are already leaving.»
The company«s General Director Roman Shulepov explained that the incident was related to an accident. One of the employees was splashed with acid intended for servicing car batteries while working.
An ambulance was called for the victim immediately. The medics who arrived, in turn, contacted the Emergency Situations Ministry (EMERCOM). Rescuers examined the worker and left the premises, with doctors providing further assistance. There was no fire at the enterprise.
The editorial office has sent an inquiry to the Tyumen Region Department of Health. No response from the agency had been received at the time of publication.
