A worker died in Krasnoturyinsk. This was reported by the regional prosecutor«s office. The incident occurred on July 16 at the production site of the UralMontazhServis enterprise while loading cargo into the bed of a KAMAZ truck. The 60-year-old worker somehow climbed onto the roof of the vehicle, but suddenly slipped and fell headfirst onto the concrete base.
As a result of the fall, the worker sustained a blunt combined injury to the head and torso, including fractures of the cranial vault and base of the skull, the prosecutor«s office of Sverdlovsk Oblast reported. The victim was hospitalized in a local hospital but soon died.
Investigators have opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 143 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of labor safety requirements resulting in death by negligence). The prosecutor«s office will examine the available documentation to determine whether the employer was at fault in the tragedy.
Unfortunately, workplace fatalities are not uncommon. Earlier, we reported that a gas worker died in an explosion at a plant in Nizhny Tagil. His mother was paid a large sum.
And a family from Kamensk-Uralsky won more than six million rubles (approximately $66,700 at current rates) in court for the death of the breadwinner — in February 2025, the floor collapsed under a worker, and the left leg of a blacksmith became trapped between giant metal dies weighing several tons. The man sustained severe injuries and died from blood loss.
