Woman trapped and killed in house fire in Urals city

A fire in the private sector of Asbest has turned into a tragedy. The homeowner was trapped inside the burning house. Local residents told E1.RU about the incident.

The blaze started on the morning of 24 January in the 101st block in one of the private houses.

«The worst thing is that there seems to be a person locked inside. The elderly woman was using heaters,» a reader told E1.RU.

According to the Telegram channel «Na Rayone,» the woman was carried out of the burning building and attempts were made to resuscitate her, but she died.

«According to local residents, she was alone in the house, and her husband was at work on a 24-hour shift. They say the couple had heating problems, so they turned on the heaters. Most likely, they caused the fire,» the publication states.

The regional MChS (Ministry of Emergency Situations) confirmed to E1.RU that a woman died in the fire, but did not specify the cause. The flames damaged the roof, ceiling, walls, household belongings, and interior finish.
