Woman injured in fire on Lazo Street in St. Petersburg

A residential building fire occurred in St. Petersburg's Krasnogvardeysky District on the evening of January 31. A woman was injured in the incident and taken to a hospital.

A fire broke out in a residential building on Lazo Street on January 31, according to a report from the press service of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) Main Directorate for St. Petersburg.

The flames engulfed the furnishings in a one-room apartment with a total area of 35 square meters (approximately 377 square feet). The area of direct fire spread was five square meters (approximately 54 square feet).

Emergency services received the fire alert at 6:17 p.m. The fire was extinguished by 6:54 p.m., taking about 37 minutes to contain.

One woman was injured as a result of the incident. She was hospitalized to receive medical care.

Three specialized firefighting vehicles and 15 EMERCOM personnel were deployed to extinguish the blaze.
