In Volgograd, on the afternoon of January 24, a major fire broke out in the Angarsky village. According to eyewitnesses, a non-residential building at the intersection of Razdolnaya and Angarskaya streets caught fire.

Firefighting teams have arrived at the scene and are working to extinguish the blaze in the commercial building.

Footage sent by readers of V1.RU shows a thick column of smoke rising from the building, which houses a grocery store from a popular retail chain, enveloping the streets of Angarsky. Several fire trucks are visible at the scene. Based on photos from the incident, the fire is raging inside the building, with no information yet on casualties among staff or visitors.
«There are two buildings,» eyewitnesses said. «One houses a Magnit store, and the other had a Fix Price. It seems that one caught fire. It has been burning for about 40 minutes.»
The Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) for the Volgograd region confirmed that fire departments were dispatched to Angarskaya Street, adding that details about the blaze are still being clarified.
Additionally, according to the 2GIS service, the building at Angarskaya Street, 98b, houses 12 tenants, including industrial and grocery supermarkets, a curtain atelier, a car parts shop, and an automated pickup point for an online marketplace.
