Witnesses Report Accident with Victim Near Volgograd Detention Center
The pedestrian injured in the accident is now undergoing medical examination at a hospital.
In Volgograd, witnesses reported a road traffic accident on Golubinskaya Street. According to residents, a car hit a person on a pedestrian crossing near the gates of pre-trial detention center No. 1 of the Russian Federal Penitentiary Service (UFSIN) for the Volgograd region.
«On Golubinskaya Street, a car hit a pedestrian,» said concerned readers of V1.RU. «Opposite the exit gates of the prison. The person is lying down.»
Note that the intersection on Golubinskaya Street is quite complex. Drivers have to carefully watch for approaching trams and also try to spot the «Pedestrian Crossing» sign, which when driving from Rokossovsky Street is hidden behind tree branches.
V1.RU is clarifying the preliminary circumstances of the accident with the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia (GU MVD) for the Volgograd region. Meanwhile, the health committee confirmed the hospitalization of a person from Golubinskaya Street.
«After examination by an ambulance team, the victim was delivered to City Clinical Hospital No. 25,» the department reported. «Currently, an examination is being conducted.»
