Water supply in Gukovo has resumed, but water is being supplied with reduced parameters. As stated by Antonina Pshenichnaya, Minister of Housing and Communal Services of Rostov Region, normal operation is planned for this weekend, January 24 and 25.

According to Pshenichnaya, on the evening of January 19, water began to flow to Kamensky and Krasnosulinsky districts, and then to Zverevo. Water returned to Gukovo itself at 4 a.m. on January 21, but with limitations due to increased consumption after the seven-day break. «As of today, in Gukovo [water supply] is already being carried out, I can say, in normal mode, but with reduced parameters. I»ll explain why. Considering that we now have maximum water draw-off, as we didn«t have it for 7 days. I understand the residents, I share all their indignation. But considering that, I repeat, the water draw-off is large, we will reduce the parameters from 11 a.m. today until 5 p.m., after 5 p.m. we will increase them again,» the minister noted.

She added that over the weekend the system should fully switch to normal operation, although in some apartments on upper floors water may still be absent — this problem has been promised to be resolved quickly. Deputy Governor Vladimir Revenko stated that «by Monday the situation will return to normal.»

Disruptions in water supply began on January 16 due to a pipeline accident, leaving residents of Gukovo, Zverevo, and settlements of Kamensky and Krasnosulinsky districts without water. In stores, water supplies ran out, and deliveries were insufficient. On the instruction of Head of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin, a criminal case has been initiated. President Vladimir Putin also showed interest in the problem. Affected residents have been promised a recalculation of utility bills.
