Water Reaches Knees as Several Streets Flood in Gypsy Settlement
Several streets in a private sector were submerged due to a water pipe burst. Residents are posting videos from the scene.

In the Gypsy Settlement in the VIZ district of Yekaterinburg, a water pipe burst flooded an entire street. Local residents report that, despite calling an emergency team, the water flow has not stopped for about an hour.
Video footage captures the flooded Linear Street in the aftermath of the water pipe burst.
The author of one of the videos from Linear Street commented on the situation: «Here»s such a good morning, neighbors on Linear Street. I have water up to my knees in my fence, my neighbors have water up to their knees in their house. And here«s the flow we have, it»s been running for probably an hour, it«s probably reached the beginning of Linear Street. We can, it turns out, launch little boats. Everything is steaming. I don»t know how we«ll thaw all this out later.»
According to neighbors, water has spread to parallel streets — Oradnaya and Copernicus. «Yards and houses are being flooded, it»s just some kind of horror,« added another local resident. Another Yekaterinburg woman clarified: »Cold water is running from the corner of the street. The new pipes of the apartment buildings burst, emergency services are at the corner of Repin and Linear.«
A request for comment was sent to the press service of Vodokanal, but it was not possible to get a prompt response.
Similar incidents have occurred before. For example, last autumn in the Svetly microdistrict, a cold water pipe also burst, leading to the flooding of a street with parked cars.
