Warehouse fire aftermath at Romanovsky Trakt

Firefighters on the evening of 20 July are dousing burnt structures and clearing debris at the site of a major fire on Romanovsky Trakt, 61, in Chita, where warehouses were burning.

As a correspondent from Chita.Ru reports, there is currently no fire. The blaze was contained. No casualties.

The base caught fire on the afternoon of 20 July. A passenger car was parked near the gates from which flames were leaping. Witnesses made several attempts to evacuate it. In the end, the car was pulled out on a tow rope — a pickup driver helped.

The press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for Zabaykalsky Krai clarified that rescuers from the specialized fire and rescue unit and fire and rescue units No. 2 and No. 4 were dispatched to the scene.

According to 2GIS, at Romanovsky Trakt, 61, there is a base of the company Stroykhimtorg, which sells dry building mixtures.

Update: at 17:32, a report of a warehouse fire on Romanovsky Trakt in Chita was received by the fire service. Forces and resources of the fire and rescue units of the Chita garrison were dispatched to the scene.

At 18:06, the fire was contained over a total area of 250 square meters, and at 18:15, open burning was eliminated. Work is currently underway to fully extinguish the fire.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, there are no deaths or injuries. The cause of the fire is being investigated by state fire supervision officials.
