Voronezh Region Seizes 100+ Cars for Drunk Driving

Since the start of 2026, drivers in Voronezh have lost 108 cars for repeated drunk driving, the regional prosecutor«s office press service reported.
Over six months, more than 170 residents of the region were convicted of repeatedly driving while intoxicated. Their cars were seized to the state«s revenue, as criminal law mandates confiscation. State prosecutors insist on the seizure of vehicles from convicts, regardless of make, model, value, or year.
For example, by decision of the Bobrovsky District Court, a Mercedes-Benz, Kia Rio, and other cars were confiscated; the Novousmansky District Court seized a Nissan; the Gribanovsky District Court seized a VAZ-21074; and the Liskinsky District Court seized an Opel.
In cases where the car was no longer in the convict«s possession before the court decision, the driver must pay an equivalent amount of money. In 2026, such demands were applied in three cases totaling more than 1 million rubles (approximately $11,100 at current rates).
