Volgograd Repels Drone Attack, Debris Search Underway

On the morning of 4 February, Volgograd and Volgograd Oblast became the target of an attack using Ukrainian-made unmanned aerial vehicles.
A message on the Telegram channel of the Volgograd Oblast administration stated: “This morning, Russian Ministry of Defense air defense units repelled a terrorist attack by unmanned aerial vehicles on industrial infrastructure facilities in southern Volgograd. At this time, there are no casualties or damage to industrial and civilian facilities. Emergency services and municipal authorities are conducting operations to search for and neutralize possible drone debris.”
Earlier, overnight, a drone danger alert was declared in the region, confirmed early on 4 February. As a result, Volgograd Airport temporarily suspended operations and remains closed.
The previous large-scale drone incident occurred on 10 January. At that time, a fire broke out at an oil depot in Oktyabrsky District, and Governor Andrei Bocharov commented on the situation.
