Volgograd Police Seek Fraud Victim Who Lost Nearly a Million

In Volgograd, law enforcement agencies are searching for a citizen who became a victim of fraud and transferred nearly a million rubles (approximately $11,100 at current rates) to two residents of Voronezh. The suspects have already been detained, and the funds have been seized, but the identity of the victim has not yet been established.
According to the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) for the Volgograd Region, the detained visitors from Voronezh were suspected of fraud. During a search, cash amounting to about a million rubles (around $11,100) was found on them.
«The men explained that they obtained this money fraudulently from an unknown person and intended to transfer it to accomplices,» noted the press service.
The search for the victim is ongoing after the incident that occurred on January 20 at 14:50 near house No. 73 on Zhukov Avenue, where a sum of 975 thousand rubles (about $10,800 at current rates) was transferred.
The press service refused to comment on the details of the case, stating that detailed information will be made public after the identification of the person who transferred the money.
