Video shows car hitting 9-year-old boy near Chita
A nine-year-old boy ran onto the road in the village of Karpovka, Chita District, and was hit by a car; the accident was caught on video. The incident was reported on February 2 in the Telegram channel of the Zabaykalsky Krai State Traffic Inspectorate (GAI).
Traffic police released video of the crash that occurred in a rural area.
The accident occurred in January 2026. Footage shows that the boy first opened a gate for another car, then ran forward. At that time, a Toyota Land Cruiser drove onto the road and hit the child.
The boy sustained injuries and was hospitalized.
Update: after the news was published, the regional Ministry of Health reported that the boy is in the Regional Children«s Clinical Hospital. He is being prepared for discharge.
Police officers issued a decision to initiate an administrative investigation, and an inspection is being conducted.
The message noted that the accident occurred in a rural area where there are no sidewalks or pedestrian paths. In such conditions, drivers are required to pay increased attention and strictly adhere to speed limits, as well as be prepared for the sudden appearance of pedestrians. Adults, on the other hand, need to supervise children«s behavior and explain traffic rules.
