Video captures City Mall conflict leading to visitor's death

The recording capturing the beginning of the incident between the security of the City Mall shopping center and a customer was circulated on January 22. The event occurred in the Perekrestok store.

In the video, a group of security guards approaches 24-year-old Dmitry, who came from Astrakhan. The men apparently demand to check the contents of his backpack. In response, the young man takes out an aerosol device and begins shooting towards the approaching guards. Three guards quickly knock him to the floor, and a fourth joins them.

During the struggle, Dmitry loses consciousness, having previously loudly called for help from other customers. Later, he died in the hospital, and doctors were unable to resuscitate him. The exact cause of death is to be determined by a forensic medical examination, and the decision to initiate a criminal case depends on its results. The Investigative Committee is currently conducting an inspection, with the police and prosecutor«s office involved in the work.

One of the guards managed to flee the scene through a service exit. Three of his colleagues were detained and taken to the police department. On the day of the incident, criminal investigation officers were working in the store.

According to available information, the deceased had recently moved to St. Petersburg. In Astrakhan, he was employed in various commercial organizations. It also became known that after the New Year, in the Primorsky district of the city, he was involved in an incident related to shooting from a window.
