Utility accident causes mega-flood near Ankudinovka

Due to a utility accident in the Ankudinovsky Park microdistrict, the village of Novopokrovskoye in Nizhny Novgorod began to flood, local residents report to NN.RU. According to the city administration, the networks belong to a private organization, which is dealing with the accident.

The flooding has partially inundated the territory of a local individual developers« association.

«The road to the houses on Preobrazhenskaya Street is flooded, water is approaching the fences of residential houses and is still rising,» a reader told NN.RU.

As explained by the city mayor«s office, the accident occurred on the networks of »Nizhegorodskie Tekhnologii Vodopolzovaniya« (Nizhny Novgorod Water Use Technologies) on a 60 cm diameter water pipeline. Water supply on the entire branch was shut off. The owner is dealing with the accident — the work is planned to be completed on Friday. An inspection of the road surface is also planned.

The administration of the Sovetsky district added that municipal roads in the village of Novopokrovskoye are not flooded. The territory of the individual developers« association »Novoe Pokrovskoye« is partially flooded. The situation is under control. If necessary, municipal equipment will be involved in eliminating the consequences of the accident.
