As reported by the governor of Kherson Oblast, Vladimir Saldo, on the morning of January 24, at the entrance to Golaia Pristan, a drone attacked a medical vehicle that was heading to a critically ill patient. Initially, the fate of the team members was unknown: no traces of their death or injuries were found at the scene. There was hope that the medics had survived and managed to hide somewhere.

Several hours later, it became clear that all three ambulance workers had died.

“The vehicle had all the necessary medical markings, yet was deliberately attacked by a Ukrainian UAV. The drone operator saw that he was striking civilian medical transport, but together with his commanders, consciously and inhumanly committed a terrorist act against peaceful civilians,” stated Foreign Ministry representative Maria Zakharova.

She noted that attacks on civilian medical transport are prohibited by international law. According to Zakharova, the Ukrainian Armed Forces «took a step towards escalating the conflict» against the backdrop of negotiations between Russia, Ukraine, and the US, which took place in Abu Dhabi on January 23 and 24.

In addition to the ambulance, drones attacked a polyclinic in Kakhovka. This was reported by the head of the Kakhovka district, Pavel Filipchuk.

The strikes blew out windows in the building, damaging medical equipment and furniture. Miraculously, no people were injured.

What to do if you see a drone?

First and most importantly, you need to call the number 112.

You need to report:

  • your first name, last name, and patronymic;

  • the address where the drone was detected;

  • describe the drone: whether it is hovering in the air or flying, its silhouette, what kind of flashing light it has;

  • what sound the object makes — buzzing, the sound of a lawnmower, a moped.

Second — leave the area where the drone was detected, and if possible, warn others.

If you find a drone on the ground, do not approach it and under no circumstances touch it. Call 112 and report the finding.
