Ufa teenager shoots teacher and classmates, described as calm but angry

A UFA1.RU correspondent spoke with parents of students at Gymnasium No. 16 in Ufa who claim to have known the teenager who carried out the shooting at the school.

Recall that the incident occurred on the morning of February 3 — a ninth-grader came to classes with a pneumatic weapon and began shooting at classmates and a teacher, and also set off a firecracker. Most of those interviewed stated that the schoolboy was generally quite calm in character, although his appearance aroused suspicion in some.

«He seemed like a calm guy, but kind of shady,» noted one parent of a student.

Ufa Mayor Ratmir Mavliev expressed a similar sentiment in a more correct manner: «The guy looks healthy, thinks, seems adequate.» Apparently, the official managed to catch a glimpse of the already detained «shooter» before he was led out of the school.

But there were other opinions. Here’s what another interlocutor said: «We’ve been paying attention to him for a long time. He behaved completely differently from everyone else.»

Several people showed UFA1.RU a Telegram channel run from the perspective of the attacker on the gymnasium. In the posts, he talks about family problems, gets angry at parents, students, and people in general. Separate negative statements were dedicated to the history teacher whom the guy shot at.

The mayor of Ufa also spoke about problems with the collective.

«Ninth-graders were picking on the guy,» stated Mavliev while talking with parents and journalists.

UPD: a comment from gymnasium director Marina Kamalova has appeared. The head of the institution said that the teenager came to their school three and a half years ago. All this time he «did not arouse any suspicions, studied like an ordinary average student.»
