Tyumen Residents Killed in Special Operation; Police Captain Among Dead

The names of ten more natives of Tyumen Oblast who died in the special military operation have been released. Local administrations provided the information.
In the special operation on September 29, 2024, a native of Nizhnetavdinsky District, senior shooter of a rifle battalion, Senior Sergeant Iskandar Alshin, was killed. The local administration reported on his farewell ceremony at the end of January 2026.
The published obituary stated that Alshin was born on February 2, 1976 in the village of Baikal. He studied at Kinderskaya School and at Vocational School No. 50 in Nizhnyaya Tavda. In 1994, he served in the military as a conscript, participated in the anti-terrorist operation in the Caucasus in 1994–1995, and in 1999–2000 served as a mechanic-driver of an infantry fighting vehicle and a tank, and was wounded. In July 2023, he signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
In Achiray, memorial plaques were unveiled in honor of two natives of Tobolsky District — Danir Yanaleyev and Sultan Nagipov. They died during the special military operation. The administration of Tobolsky District reported this on January 28.
In Vikulovsky District on January 30, a solemn ceremony was held to present state awards and certificates to the families of those killed in the special operation. The Order of Courage was awarded to Mikhail Kalinin; the Zhukov Medal to Ivan Stolyarov; the Medal «For Courage» to Petr Seliverstov. All posthumously. In addition, certificates were presented to family members of those killed in the special military operation — Nikolai Zavaruev, Rishat Patrashin, Sergei Yuzhakov. This was reported by the administration of Vikulovsky District.
Andrey Gontarev was killed in the special operation. The administration of Yalutorovsk reported this on January 31.
“Andrey was a native of Yalutorovsk, born on July 11, 1980. After graduating from the fourth school, he chose a solid, working profession, obtaining a mechanic«s specialty at the Agrarian College. But fate had a different calling in store for him. After completing his compulsory service in the Armed Forces, Andrey Nikolayevich remained true to the cause of defending the country. He served in military intelligence — the elite of the army. There, in the crucible of the Chechen campaign, his character was tempered and true bravery manifested,” the obituary said.
For many years, Gontarev served in the internal affairs agencies: in the State Traffic Inspectorate, in the criminal investigation department. He rose to the rank of police captain. His farewell will take place on February 2.
