Tyumen athlete beats man on playground: criminal case

On the evening of January 10, a brutal beating occurred on a playground in Tyumen. A professional athlete who practices Muay Thai attacked a man after a conflict between their children.
The victim, Dmitry, sustained serious injuries: several fractures of facial bones, a dislocated collarbone, ligament tears, and a concussion. His complaint was accepted by the police promptly.
The very next day, the attacker was taken to the police department. After a forensic medical examination, a criminal case was initiated.
The press service of the Tyumen Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (UMVD) reported: «The results of the forensic medical examination have come in. A criminal case has been initiated against the attacker, a man born in 2007, under Article 112 Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.»
At the moment, the accused remains at large. He has given a written commitment to appear promptly upon summons from the investigator, detective, or court and to report any change of residence.
The athlete already has a criminal record, so if found guilty, he faces a real prison term.
