Fire crews and an ambulance quickly arrived at the scene.

The fire started on the fourth floor of a new residential building. Two people were evacuated.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations (MChS) deployed 10 firefighters and four pieces of equipment. The flames raged over a small area of two square meters.

Unfortunately, the tragedy could not be avoided—two people who were in the apartment at the time died. Their identities are currently being established. The cause of the fire is also unknown and will be investigated by a fire investigator.

The people likely died from carbon monoxide poisoning. The MChS reminded Tula residents of the need to install smoke detectors in their homes to warn of smoke in the early stages.
