On the night of July 20, a Chevrolet Trailblazer and a Kia Ceed collided on Dzerzhinsky Street in Chelyabinsk. The accident occurred at 4:45 a.m. at an empty intersection where traffic lights were not functioning.
According to video footage, the driver traveling on a secondary road failed to yield to the vehicle on the main road. Witnesses said: «The intersection is strewn with debris. When I walked by at 7 a.m., the ambulances were already gone, and the second black car was also missing.»
The city department of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate (Gosavtoinspektsiya, GAI) reported that both drivers were injured in the crash and taken to the hospital. According to the video, one of them appears to have a leg injury.
Preliminary information indicates that the Chevrolet Trailblazer was driven by a 19-year-old, while the Kia Ceed was driven by a 33-year-old man. Traffic police officers are continuing to investigate the circumstances.
