Two Children Severely Injured in Crash Near Tikhvin

The accident occurred the day before at noon on the 447th kilometer of the Vologda–Novaya Ladoga highway. According to preliminary information, a 31-year-old woman driving a Toyota drove into the oncoming lane and had a head-on collision with a Mercedes-Benz truck with a semi-trailer.

As a result of the collision, the passengers of the car — two boys aged two and four — sustained serious injuries. They were urgently taken to a medical facility.

Tikhvin District police are conducting an investigation into the road accident. The incident was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region on February 4.
