Two Ambulances Get Into Accidents in St. Petersburg

On the morning of January 23, two incidents involving ambulances occurred in St. Petersburg.
The first accident happened at 9:24 at the intersection of Piskarevsky Prospekt and Svedlovskaya Embankment. According to a post on the Telegram channel «Megapolis», an ambulance collided with a passenger car. Dashcam footage shows that the medical vehicle, with its flashing lights on but, according to witnesses, without a siren, entered the intersection on a red light while making a left turn from the embankment onto the prospect. At that moment, a passenger car was turning from Piskarevsky Prospekt onto the embankment.
The impact hit the rear of the ambulance, causing it to spin almost 180 degrees. An eyewitness named Andrey in the «Accidents and Emergencies» group said: «The ambulance just got wrecked when it ran the red light.»
Several hours later, another accident involving medical transport occurred on Obukhovskoy Oborony Prospekt. According to another eyewitness, also published in «Megapolis», a passenger car hit a paid ambulance near a pedestrian crossing.
