A heavy truck veered into a ditch on the R-258 «Baikal» highway in the Slyudyanka district, resulting in two people being injured, according to a January 22 report on the Telegram channel of the regional State Traffic Inspectorate.

The accident occurred around noon near the «Shamanka» beach in Slyudyanka.
«According to preliminary data, a 47-year-old driver of a Sany truck, traveling from the city of Irkutsk towards Ulan-Ude, lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer into a ditch,» according to the traffic police publication.
As a result of the accident, two people were injured — the driver and his 57-year-old passenger. Both were taken to the hospital.
