Truck Driver Causes Fatal Crash on Tyumen-Khanty-Mansiysk Highway

Another fatal traffic accident occurred on the Tyumen–Tobolsk–Khanty-Mansiysk highway. The crash happened on the evening of January 28 on the approach to Nefteyugansk. The State Traffic Inspectorate of Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug provided details of the tragedy.

The collision occurred around 5:10 p.m. at kilometer 665 of the highway, in the Nefteyugansky District. According to preliminary data, a 55-year-old KamAZ truck driver entered the oncoming lane and collided with a Gazelle van. The 49-year-old van driver died at the scene before the ambulance arrived.
Recently, the State Traffic Inspectorate shared the number of accidents that occurred on federal highways. The statistics were provided exclusively to 72.RU. The most accident-prone highway in Tyumen Oblast became the road leading to Khanty-Mansiysk. There, 155 traffic accidents occurred, resulting in 28 deaths and 247 injuries.
