On January 31, in the Novoanninsky District of the Volgograd Region, a collision occurred between a passenger train and a UAZ truck. The incident was captured on video and, fortunately, did not result in any casualties.
The crossing was not equipped with a barrier, but it had a traffic light and warning signs.

According to information from the Privolzhskaya Railway, the accident happened on the section between the Budarino station and Razyezd 782nd kilometer.
«The driver of a passenger car entered the railway crossing in front of an approaching passenger train No. 16 traveling from Moscow to Volgograd,» according to a statement from the Privolzhskaya Railway. «The train driver applied emergency braking, but the distance was insufficient, and the collision could not be avoided. Preliminary information indicates there were no injuries. Passengers and the train»s locomotive crew did not seek medical attention.«
Footage of the incident appeared on the Telegram channel «Novoanninsky Today.» The recording shows the UAZ driver approaching a crossing without a barrier, followed by a passenger train. The car slows down slightly before the tracks but then decides to proceed, however, it does not make it in time. The locomotive hits the UAZ on the left rear side, pushing it off the road, after which the car spins around and ends up in the railway ditch.
The Volgograd Transport Prosecutor«s Office is conducting an inspection of compliance with legislation on railway traffic safety. The circumstances and causes of the accident are being determined. Based on the results of the inspection, it will be decided whether any measures need to be taken.
Police later reported that the 38-year-old truck driver ignored a prohibiting traffic light signal at the crossing and was hospitalized.
