Truck and Dam Accidents Snarl Traffic Near Nizhny Novgorod
The snowfall that continued since night seriously complicated traffic on highways near Nizhny Novgorod. Motorists commuting to work from Bor and Kstovsky District encountered numerous delays and reported several accidents.
One of the incidents occurred in the industrial zone of the city of Kstovo, where three heavy trucks and a passenger car collided. The car was trapped between two trucks. Official confirmation of this accident has not yet been received.
Two more traffic accidents were noted in the area of the Bor dam on the approach to Nizhny Novgorod. According to eyewitnesses, one happened at the fork with Tolokontsevo, and the second – directly on the dam. Details of these incidents have also not been disclosed yet.
In the regional center itself, large-scale traffic jams have formed, rated at the maximum level. The most serious congestion is observed:
- on the section along Udmurtskaya, Novikova-Priboya streets and the Molotovsky Bridge from Kuzbasskaya to Larina;
- on Gagarin Avenue from Shaposhnikova Street to Lyadov Square;
- along two kilometers of Rodionova Street on the approach to Sennaya Square.
