Triple Birthday Party in Kuzbass Sauna Ends in Fatal Fire

The victims of the burned private sauna in Prokopyevsk were students of a local college. They were celebrating a birthday, sources in law enforcement told NGS42.RU on Saturday, January 31.

According to our sources, the teenagers were 16–17 years old. They studied at a technical school of physical culture.

In the hall of «Sauna on Central», they held a party to celebrate the birthdays of three of them — two girls and a boy. The birthday celebrants are believed to have died in the fire.

Only a 16-year-old student managed to escape from the building engulfed in flames.

Kuzbass Governor Ilya Seredyuk called the incident a tragedy and said that assistance will be provided to the families of the victims.

Earlier, NGS42.RU learned that the bodies of five people were found in the burned and partially collapsed building. All of them are teenagers.

Specialists continue to clear the debris in search of other victims. A criminal case has been initiated.
